Tossa is a superior quality rope for all skill levels and types of which is a long-standing best seller.

It is a medium laid (medium twist) double yarn jute rope which means it is mid-weight and very forgiving of rough handling. The unusually high yarn count (5.5mm, 8 double yarns per ply and 6.5mm, 12 double yarns per ply) makes it almost as smooth as a single yarn rope but with all the durability of a double yarn.

It requires a wet treatment and needs some breaking in but it lasts and lasts, just getting better with age.

During wet treatment the rope relaxes and the diameter increases. With the use the rope return its initial measurements.

    good for uplines

Have been using it for two months now; basically for uplines which works well. For tying it is to stiff for my liking. Becomes softer after washing, singeing off, waxing/oiling and usage.

    Great rope

Joined a rope club, and I got a whole pile of this stuff based on what they recommended. Going from cotton and nylon to this is a whole different ballgame! So quick and easy to tie with, and you almost don't even need to make a knot because the rope bites so well against itself. I made two loops around my ankles and I had to wiggle hard to get out because the ropes refused to slide across each other! And yet the knots are easily undone when you want to untie them. Ties that used to be uncomfortable with other materials (e.g. a frogtie), are just much more comfy with this, since it grips so well. Cinches in the rope are comfy and secure, and circulation in the limbs is easy to maintain. It's a bit scratchy to the touch, but I've only tested it a few times yet, and it's supposed to get softer with time. In the beginning, using some form fitting clothes under the ropes works wonders, if you want to stay roped up for a long time without getting itchy skin. My significant other is coming over to tie me up soon, and she is dying to try it! Now I almost regret getting 8x10m lengths of rope. I won't be going anywhere in a hurry.
