Dyed jute rope

Ten colours, plus multi-coloured! Single and double yarn options

Original single yarn

A very Japanese style rope but with a higher than average yarn count for extra smoothness. Each of the three strands has 18 single yarns, which is 50% more than average. Thus, the rope is soft, flexible and compresses to form nice, compact knots and frictions.

As the yarn is dyed before making the rope*, the colour is consistent all the way through and there's minimal odour from the dye but no are no nasty JBO smells. It also means you don't need to wet treat this rope. It also has very little hair so burning off is optional. It can be used as is but oiling or waxing will help preserve it and create a wonderful silkiness with use.

The diameter is 6.2mm but I would expect this to break in to an exact 6mm. At around 17.5g per metre, it is a light and fast rope.

* The multi-coloured rope is dyed after manufacture, so might not be consistent to the core.

NEW! Double yarn

I have just received 3,000m of a double yarn rope which is very similar in look, feel and construction to my standard Tossa 6mm. Due to the dyeing process, it doesn't need wet treating as it is flexible and odour free. If you like my Tossa, you'll love this.

The actual diameter is 6.4mm, so is likely to be very accurate once burned off and used a little. The weight is 21.5g per meter. Each of the three strands has eight double yarns in a fairly tight twist. This means the rope is very durable and forgiving of rough handling. Like my other coloured rope, it is made from dyed yarn so there are no colour penetration issues; it is vibrant right to the core.
